ORBIFIELD / OFFLINE FIELDWORK

Keep field records moving when the connection drops

A site visit does not always come with a reliable connection. OrbiField supports local fieldwork on your phone or desktop, with sync when the connection is available again.

For businesses and sole traders working on site around the world. English-language software for phone and desktop, with regional address, date and time-zone settings. Public prices are in AUD.

Prepare before you leave

Sign in and sync the jobs you need while connected. Check that the records, drawings and pictures required for the visit are available on the device you will take. Installing the web app provides a convenient way to open it, but it does not automatically download every cloud record or picture.

Record the work on the device

Use the available local workspace to capture job notes, asset findings and pictures during the visit. Keep the same site and job context as you move through the work. Locally available material matters: a picture or drawing that has never been downloaded cannot be assumed to open without a connection.

Reconnect and review sync

When online again, use Sync and review any conflicts or interrupted uploads shown by the application. Keep the device and its local browser storage available until the work has synced successfully. Authentication, initial sign-in and some shared or cloud-only operations still need a connection.

Understand where offline work is stored

Offline drafts and cached pictures belong to the device, browser profile and app address where they were created. They do not automatically transfer to a second phone or a different hostname. Do not clear browser data or remove a browser profile while it holds unsynced work. Use the current app address, app.orbifield.com, consistently.
